WHY AND HOW I PAINT
I am a self-taught painter. There are both, negative and positive sides of this. But I have always enjoyed the freedom during the process of painting, which I know; I could not have done otherwise.
Right from the beginning, I have tried to travel to known to unknown areas in my mind, which follow in my paintings.
To be more precise, I may state that, first I was trying to draw things as they looked, but now I try to draw them as I see them or rather I feel them, it is a window or a sun, or a still life or a human or animal form.
Rather than picking up or selecting a subject and doing a series of painting on that subject, I would prefer different images for different paintings.
I like vibrant floating and rapturous color in my painting which I feel, helps me to achieve a kind of an abstraction of the image.
There are nine RASAS (nine sentiments) in Indian poetic. I believe that it is possible to create all nine RASAS in paintings as they are done in poetry and the same is Trans ended in the viewer of the painting. This is what I try to do in my paintings through images, forms, colors & compositions. This is what I try to do during my journey towards abstraction.
These are simple details about my paintings and my process of creation, which I suppose might help to understand, enjoy and feel my paintings.
